Dearest Secret Circle fans, please picture the following scenario: It’s a rainy Thursday afternoon, the day is winding down, and you’re enjoying an enchanting conversation about witchcraft, guilty pleasures, and dark magic. Typical day in Chance Harbor, right? Well, it gets even better…because the person on the other end of the line just so happens to be Chris Zylka (hottie alert!), and he’s dishing out details about Jake, Cassie, and life on The Secret Circle set!

Check out our exclusive interview with Chris Zylka below and prepare to be dazzled by his fun sense of humor, total amicability, and –dare we say — witch man sass!  Enjoy:

TSC: How did you feel stepping in after the death of a well-liked character?
Chris:  Um, wow. That’s a really, really good question. Thanks for stumping me. [Laughs] I guess I really didn’t look at it that way – as filling in – because Nick’s presence is always gonna be there. Nobody’s just going to forget about him.

TSC: How was your first day on set? Were you nervous?
Chris:  The first day was like any first day. I played football growing up and was told that if you’re not nervous before the first match then something’s wrong. That’s when you worry…if you’re not nervous. You’ve got to have a few butterflies in your stomach or you don’t care enough.  Plus, I got to see the cast work for five episodes before I came in and knew I was working with an amazing team. I had all the confidence in the world. [Working on TSC] was something I cared about and really wanted. So yeah, I was a little nervous but the butterflies went away when we started shooting our first scene.

TSC: The witches on the show have all sorts of abilities but what kind of power would you love to possess?
Chris:  Oh god, I don’t want to be too cheesy. I’m always cheesy. [Laughs heartily] What would be my ultimate power? I definitely wouldn’t want to know what people were thinking, I think that’s too serious. Would you want to know what everyone was thinking?

TSC: Sure—why not! It’d be entertaining!
Chris: [gasps ] Oh my god! Never! I’d rather not know. Um, um…world peace. Oh no, wait–how about this how about this?! [gets excited] Instead of world peace, how about bringing people back from the dead. That’d be a pretty cool power!  [pauses and contemplates his response] W e’d be overpopulated quickly though.

TSC: Here comes the inevitable question…Team Adam or Team Jake?
Chris: What’s the most political way to answer this question? I think that I’m team Cassie. Whatever she chooses, whatever makes her happy at the end of the day is all that’s really important to me. Obviously, I want her with me, I want her with Jake – or whatever they’re calling it – Cake?

TSC: Yep — it’s Cake!
Chris: [laughs appreciatively] That’s so funny. And so flattering actually.

TSC: So, now that we’re talking about Cake, fans want to know—what’s your most guilty pleasure?
Chris: Hmm, hmmm let’s see here. Well I have so many guilty pleasures. Oh my goodness. I don’t know. Eating pizza?

TSC: Yum! What kind of pizza?
Chris: I’m a basic plain old pepperoni and if it’s not just pepperoni on pizza I just won’t eat it. It just doesn’t taste that good.

TSC: We hear you’re quite the musician. Do you and Thomas Dekker ever have jam sessions?
Chris: [laughs] Thomas would blow me out of the water, he’s so talented. He’s actually a really really really talented musician. And it’s more of just a hobby for me, something to do, a way to exercise the artistic muscles.

TSC:  So then, should we expect Jake to serenade Cassie at any point?
Chris: Serenade Cassie? [laughs and states of matter of factly] Witches don’t serenade. I mean, I suppose that could be a possibility if, you know, that came across.

TSC: That’d be awesome. If only we had magical powers to make it happen!
Chris: [teasing jokingly] You could be a witch, you could be a witch… You never know! Start practicing! Come to the Circle!
